He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Hughes and Norma Hughes; his siblings, Gerry Forrest, Barbara Hughes and Randy Hughes; and his nephew Milton Roe.
He is survived by: his wife Candy Hughes; his children, Melissa Chuvalas (Brandon) and Chris Hughes; his grandson Keegan Chuvalas; his siblings, Joyce Stevens (Rusty), Cindy Winegardner (John) and Doug Hughes (Desiree); his brother-in-law Brad Forrest; his mother-in-law Leona Retzer; his siblings-in-law, Sharon Retzer, Jimmy Retzer, Carla Retzer, Vickey Retzer and Mark Retzer (Matt); Bea Rarick (Emerson). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Fairfield Christian Church (1965 N Columbus St, Lancaster, OH 43130). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to be made in George's memory to Fairfield Christian Academy, 1965 N. Columbus Street, Lancaster, OH 43130, or Fairhope Hospice, 282 Sells Road, Lancaster, OH.
