He is survived by: his children, Ted Schmelzer, Michael Schmelzer, Kathy Krebs (Curt), Paul Schmelzer (Kathleen), Claire Smith (Chester), Therese Laird (Brett) and Mary Berry (Brad). He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
