Norene Murphy Obituary
Norene T. Murphy, age 90 of Lancaster, passed away at Main Street Terrace on January 25, 2024 surrounded by loving family. She was born in Delphos, Ohio on February 28, 1933 to the late Hillary and Martha (Gengler) Trentman. She was a member of The Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption, where she was active in the Lazarus Committee. She was a Certified Dietary Manager at Crestview Nursing Home, where she worked 25 years. Norene was a wonderful cook and baker, and enjoyed gardening in her free time. She was an avid Ohio State fan and loved spending time with her family.
Norene is survived by her sons, Mark Murphy, Evan (Lisa) Murphy, Dale Murphy, and Damian (Sherie) Murphy; 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; sons-in-law, Michael Miller and David Leffler; siblings, Merlin (Dorothy) Trentman, Mary Loraditch, Rose Etgen and Robert (Susie) Trentman; sister-in-law, Jane Trentman; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Norene is preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Paul J. Murphy, daughters, Christine Miller and Joanna Leffler, grandson, Eric Roshon, daughter-in-law, Mary Murphy, and sisters, Virginia Nichols, Lois Luersman, and brother, Tom Trentman.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 29, 2024 at The Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption, with Fr. Craig Eilerman, Celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Friends and family may visit on Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at SHERIDAN FUNERAL HOME, where a vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
