He was predeceased by: his father Harry Hughes; and his brother John Hughes. He is survived by: his daughter Megan Hughes; his brothers, Chuck Hughes (Melanie), Steve Hughes (Linda) and Rick Hughes (Erin); and his siblings' children, Melissa Renfro (Kyle), Jennifer King (Jeremy), Steven Hughes, Chris Hughes, Mike Hughes (Kelsey), Matt Hughes (Brooke), Bill Hughes (Becca), Lindsay Ormsby (Joe), Ali Fulcher (Brian) and Joel Warren (Christine).
