He was predeceased by: his parents, Leverett C. Montgomery and Gladys I. Montgomery (Snider); his wife Linda K. Montgomery (Redick); his brother Roy O. Montgomery; and his grandson Clayton J. Montgomery.

He is survived by: his sons, Ryan Montgomery (Tammy) of Lancaster and Kelly W. Montgomery of Lancaster; his grandchildren, Riley, Zachary and Ethan Montgomery; and his sister Judy Mae Nye (Doyle R.) of Logan.
