He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert Lyman Grooms and Hazel Opal Grooms (Herdman); his wife Naomi R. Anderson; his siblings, Given C. Grooms, Paul P. Grooms, Ruth Stulley, Naomi James and Norma Grooms; his son-in-law Wayland Hamlin; and his grandchildren, Brian and Julie Hamlin.
He is survived by: his children, Robert Grooms (Annette Andrews) of Chillicothe, Wayne Grooms (Lori) of Latham, June Hamlin of Pelahatchie, Beverly Grooms of Latham and Jane Potter (Jason) of Chillicothe; his grandchildren, Jay Hamlin, Angela Maily, Jeremy, Cody Grooms, Zachary, Chandler, Cole Grooms and Wyatt Potter; and his sister-in-law Darlene Schreck (Mike). He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
