He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Kenneth Layfield and Florence Layfield (Raber); his wife Carolyn Layfield; his siblings, Edith, Betty, Gilbert, William and Donald; his brother-in-law Robert Yocum (Janet); and his nephew Donald Layfield.
He is survived by: his children, Tammy Gould of Leavittsburg, OH and Doug Layfield of Bristolville, OH; his brothers, John Layfield (Barbara) and Russell Layfield (Doris); his siblings-in-law, Susan Layfield, Sally Layfield, Verna Roby-Wightman, Ronald, Jay and James Yocum; his grandchildren, Shannon Bartlett, Seth Park, Douglas Jr., Lanaya and Morgan Layfield; his great grandchildren, Kyron and Alivia; and his close friends, Charles and Betty Jaros.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests material contributions be made to Shriners or Hospice House Compassus of Poland.
