He was predeceased by: his parents, William Joseph and Ada Elizabeth; his wife Rose Vernier; and his daughter Nancy J. Freeze. He is survived by: his children, James R. Vernier (Elizabeth Fithen) of Williamsburg, OH, Lois Freeze (Robert) of Huber Heights, OH and Carolyn Mongold (David) of Xenia, OH; his son-in-law Mark Freeze of Beavercreek, OH; and his siblings, David Vernier and Janet White. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, and eight great -grandchildren.
