He was predeceased by: his parents, Laurabelle Michelsen and Bill Michelsen; his brother Mike; his grandson Nate; and his great grandchild Isaac.
He is survived by: his wife Norma; his children, Barbara Zimmerman (Dennis), Suzanne Powell (Gene) and Mark Shrider (Carol); his stepchildren, Steve McCullough (Karen), Amy Pfahler (Chris), Barry McCullough (Lori) and Tina Gibson (John); and his brothers, Tom and Doug. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Putnam County Council on Aging or St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic.
