He was predeceased by: his parents, Wayne Brooks and Hattie Brooks (Mull-Hoskins); and his siblings, Herbert Brooks (Lucille), Lowell Brooks (Florence), Clyde Brooks (Velma), Clifford Brooks (Ruth), Clarence Brooks (Lavon), Mabel Risley (Lloyd), Charles Brooks, Paul Brooks (Teresa), George Brooks (Agnes), Sylvia Rettig (Ralph) and Ella Mansfield (Paul).

He is survived by: his children, Kim Brooks (Tammie) of Leipsic, Beth Diller (Ted) of Pandora, Daryl Brooks (Julie) of Ottawa, Brad Brooks (Bonita) of Pandora and Julie Roof (Chris) of Ottawa. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
