Matthew leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Matthew’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Matthew will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was predeceased by: his parents, June Grant and Edward Grant. He is survived by: his siblings, Ed, Tom, Bede and Vera; his wife Kimberly O'Connell; and his children, Stephanie, Allison and Emily.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Hodapp Funeral Home (6410 Cincinnati Dayton Rd, Liberty Township, OH 45044). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Dayton National Cemetery (4400 W Third St, Dayton, OH 45428). A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Barrel House (417 E 3rd St, Dayton, OH 45402).
