He was predeceased by: his parents, John Wesley Johnson and Cora Lee Johnson (Darby); his wife Bertha Ann Johnson (Jennings); and his siblings, Bennie M. Johnson, Ronald "Hollywood" Johnson, Louis Johnson, Sarah L. Baker, Narciss Johnson, Hattie Butler, Irene Shealey, Della Bryant, Jessie Mae Johnson and Mary Ridgeway.
He is survived by: his children, Bonnie Smith (Anthony) of Lima, OH, Joann Howard of Lima, OH, Vanessa Young of Cincinnati, OH., Herman Dixon of Cincinnati, OH, Reginald L. Johnson (Dana), Jeffrey L. Johnson (Melissa) and Darrell A. Johnson of Lima, OH.; and his stepchildren, Robert Simpson (Gizzo) of Lima and Connie (Steven) of Lima. He is also survived by 32 Grandchildren and 28 Great Grandchildren.
