He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Doyle Stemen and Martha Garretson (Easterling); and his siblings, Carl David Stemen and Holly Semer. He is survived by: his sons, Adam Stemen (Lindsay) of Van Wert, Corey Stemen (Tyme) of Silver Springs and Caleb Stemen of Salt Springs, Florida; his grandchildren, Gage, Alexis, Tripp, Bryce Harper Stemen, Averie Moynihan, Adelyn, Aubrey and Aaron McCormick; and his siblings, Jaime Stemen of Ohio City, Mark Stemen of Indiana, Robin Stemen (Kim) of Van Wert and Tracie Vincent of Willshire.
