He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald "Don" Herold and Ellen Herold (Farris); his wife Vicki Basinger-Mumma Herold; his stepmother Ida Mae Herold; his son Ronald A. Herold; his sister Barbara "Barb" Tawney (Richard "Dick"); and his son-in-law Ed Woodson.
He is survived by: his children, Toni Woodson of Savannah, Sandy Miles (Mark) of Lima, Ohio and Michael "Mike" Herold (Heather) of Rex, Georgia; his stepson Tony Mumma (Farah) of Gomer, Ohio; his grandchildren, Justin, Tami, Amanda, Tyler, Elijah, Elizabeth, Cheyenne and Emily; his sister Deborah "Deb" Murray (Mike) of Tucson, Arizona; his close friend Jane Kline of Lima, Ohio; his son-in-law Mark Miles; Jill Kaufman (Ken) of Berne and James "Jim" Gibson (Brandy) of Van Wert, Ohio. He is also survived by two grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
