He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Norman and Naomi Catherine Rice (Flager); and his brother James Walter Rice (Linda Widmark). He is survived by: his children, Thomas Wayne Rice (Frank Gatto Jr.) of Jersey City, NJ, Deborah Lee Rice (David Estep) of Columbus, OH and Joanna Christine Wessell (Scott) of Delphos, OH; his grandchildren, Morgan Brittany Wessell and Quinten Scott Wessell (Jenna); his great grandchildren, Aris Lamar Downton, Asaiah Lee Ward, Emmitt Scott Wessell and Ashlynn Rose Wessell; and his siblings, Michael George Rice (Mary Anne) of Waynesfield, OH and Mary Ann Valentine (Phillip) of Wapakoneta, OH. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 3rd 2025 from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home (920 N Cable Rd, Lima, OH 45805). A memorial service was held on Wednesday, December 3rd 2025 at 3:15 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to donor's choice.
