He was predeceased by: his parents, John Burth and Sophia Miles; his daughter Diane Miles; and his siblings, David Miles, Cleveland Brown, John Miles, Alice Allen, Ophelia Pruitt and Johnnie M. Battile.

He is survived by: his son Terry Miles of Akron, OH; his sisters, Mary Murry of Phenix City, AL and Annie Cunningham of Buffalo, NY; his niece Lois Delores Pittman of Lima, OH; and his close friend Julia Sanks of Lima, OH. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
