We announce the death of Fayne Gray Wise (Lima, Ohio), who passed away on September 11, 2026, at the age of 83. Fayne will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Fayne will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Fayne will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture his life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Fayne’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Wise, Sr. and Mary Roberts-Wise; his wife Paula Collier Wise; and his brothers, Harold Wise, Jr. and Ean Wise.
He is survived by: his children, Lisa Wise-Eady, Rev. Shane Wise (Crystal) and Cynthia Ridgell (Dorniko); his sister Patricia Wise; Stephanie Cunningham (Pastor Corey). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild, sons and daughters; and a host of relatives, friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church (110 W 11th St, Lima, OH 45804). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Philippian Missionary Baptist Church (190 E 8th St, Lima, OH 45804).
