She was predeceased by: her parents, Earcel Compton and Oriole Compton (Rice); her husband Ward Samons; and her siblings, Ted Compton, Patty Compton, Don Compton and Randell Compton.
She is survived by: her children, V. Kathleen "Kathy" Herfurth (Rex) of Alger, OH, L. David "Dave" Samons (Phyllis) of Lima, OH and Mike Samons (Tammy) of Marysville, OH; her grandchildren, Ryan Herfurth (Arynn Martin), Amber Scott (Brandon) and Robin Buffenbarger (Alan); and her sister Chris Carr (Lewis). She is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
