He was predeceased by: his parents, Alma Sawmiller and Nellie Sawmiller (Balthaeser); his wife Janet Sawmiller (Newland); and his siblings, Ruth Loegel (Francis), Sarah "Saide" Harsh (Herbert), Carl Sawmiller (Echo), William "Bill" Sawmiller (Doris) and Gary Sawmiller.
He is survived by: his children, Jill Sawmiller of Lima, OH and Jed Sawmiller (Carol) of Spring Valley, OH; his brother Forrest "Frog" Sawmiller (June) of Wapakoneta, OH; and his grandsons, Bradley Stubbs of Cincinnati, OH, Spencer Stubbs of Toledo, OH, Nicholas "Nick" Sawmiller of Spring Valley, OH and Benjamin "Ben" Sawmiller of Spring Valley, OH..
