He was predeceased by: his mother Neusa Modica (Shortino); and his siblings, Carmen Modica (Maryann) and Giovanna "Evon" Mikesell (Wallace). He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth R Modica (Bowsher); his children, Lisa A. Modica-Ruiz (Hector), Mary T. Modica, Joseph M. Modica (Lisa), Carol J. Modica, Charles A. Modica (Carrie) and Christine M. Tavenner (Dan); his grandchildren, Jamie Culp, Sara Altman (Dan), Saundra Moore (Andrew), Samantha Modica, Julia Hardin (Austin), Mathew Modica, Winifred Hitchman (Craig) and Andrew Tavenner; and his great grandchildren, Hunter, Millie, Mack, Levi Altman, Cameron, Carmen Jo Thomas, Lilian, Waylon, Madelyn, HallieHardin and Elizabeth Hitchman.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lima Central Catholic School.
