He was predeceased by: his parents, Adolf Blass and Freida Blass (Schmidt); and his brother Robert. He is survived by: his wife Carol Jean Blass; his children, Michael Alan Blass (Phyllis), Deborah Kay Cook (Steven) and Stephen Mark Blass; his grandchildren, Matthew J. Cook, Jessica M Belisle (Adam), Mark B. Blass, Sarah C. Schmelzer (Kyle) and Ryan M. Blass; his stepgrandchildren, Shannon Hull (Nathan) and Katie Strayer (Hans); his great grandchildren, Madison Cook, Aubrey Cook, Collin Schmelzer, Gatlin Belisle, Mason Schmelzer, Hazel Belisle, Maddox Schmelzer and Jagger Schmelzer; his stepgreat-granddaughters, Caroline C Strayer and Abigail C Strayer; his brother Richard; and his sister-in-law Barbara Blass of Crofton, Maryland..
