With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Katharine Ann Hughes of Lima, Ohio, who passed away on November 18, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, Katharine Ann shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Katharine Ann farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Zapp and Mabel Zapp (McGuire); and her sons, Larry and Terry Hughes. She is survived by: her husband Loren G. Hughes; her children, Dawn Bechtel, Shelly Smith (Melvin) and Beverly Hughes; and her brother Gary Zapp (Gail). She is also survived by four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 4th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Sager Lodge #513 (1930 Swaney Rd, Harrod, OH 45850). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, December 4th 2025 at 4:30 PM at the same location.
