She was predeceased by: her parents, John Geist and Ruby Geist (Kauffman); her husband Larry Simpson; her brother John Timothy "Tim" Geist; and her former husband Donald Mitchell.
She is survived by: her children, Matthew Mitchell (Amanda) and Esther Mitchell (Matthew); her granddaughter Zoe Mitchell; her sisters, Sue Fisher (Doug) and Virginia Geist; and her sister-in-law Elizabeth Geist. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
