He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Courtney and Dorene Courtney (Parlette); and his grandfather Ercil Parlette. He is survived by: his wife Sherrie Courtney; his sons, Johnathan Zimmerman (Brittany), Matthew Courtney (Kala), Brady Courtney and Austin Courtney; his stepchildren, Lonnie Rader and McKenzie Green (Travis); his siblings, Cindy Courtney, Ted Kohli (Mattie), Veronica Long (Craig), Rena Freed, Jason Kohli (Glenda), Deirdre Morgan (David), Josh Kohli and Michelle Meitzner; and his granddaughter Ruth Parlette. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family for funeral expenses.
