He was predeceased by: his mother Ruth E. Smith (Thompson); his former wife Suzzanne VanBuskirk (Spyker); and his half-brothers, Earl Kitchings (Dora) and Robert Kitchings (Evelyn). He is survived by: his father Walter E. Smith; his significant other Elizabeth "Beth" I. Sparrow of Lima, OH; his children, Marci J. Stoner (Dominic) of Lima, OH, Tiffany N. Dailey (Anthony) of Lima, OH, Paul E. Kitchings Jr. (Misty) of Van Wert, OH, Ray Smith of Elida, OH and Trevor Smith (Theresa) of Beavercreek, OH; and his sister Judith A. Kitchings of Toledo, OH.. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services - Shawnee Chapel (1170 Shawnee Rd, Lima, OH 45805). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 8th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
