He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Armstrong and Flossie Armstrong (McClain); his brothers, Harold Armstrong, Robert Armstrong and Russell Armstrong; and his wife Madeleine Armstrong (Grove).

He is survived by: his children, Brenda Bennington (Steve), Linda Toth (Mike), Sandra Hermes (Paul) and Keith Armstrong (Amy); and his grandchildren, Becky Oswalt (Tim), Bill Bennington (Jenelle), Beau Bennington (Stefanie), Ben Chaney, Hilary Chaney, Drew Hermes, Nate Hermes, Jack Armstrong and Madeleine Armstrong. He is also survived by four step-grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, three step great-grandchildren; and his many special nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Perry Township Fire and Rescue Department.
