He was predeceased by: his father Darrel Robert. He is survived by: his mother Ruth Ann Loar (Rhoda); his brothers, Mike Loar (Janna) and Tim Loar (Brenda); and his nieces, Brittany Saffell (Sean), Jackie Wiedenhoft (Nick), Brooke Lucas, Carly Mitchell (John) and Mackenzie Ogrin (Brian).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Lima Public Library or Shawnee United Methodist Church.
