It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert S. Thompson (Lima, Ohio), born in New Knoxville, Ohio, who passed away on April 20, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Austin Thompson and Emma Thompson (Elshowe); his wife Marlene McCullough; his stepmother Amanda Thompson (Elshowe); his daughter Susan Wicker (Randy); his brothers, Eugene Elshowe and Harold Thompson; and his stepgrandsons, Seth McClintock and Justin Hilyard.

He is survived by : his daughters, Vickie Pearce (Larry) of Kansas, Sandy Yahl (David) of South Carolina, Betty Terhark (Terry) of Georgia, Betsy McCollum (Don) of Lima and Donna Woods (JR) of Michigan; and his stepchildren, Sharon McClintock of Ada, Brett McClintock (Sally) of Waynesfield, Janet Watkins of Ada and Tracy Hughes of Jackson Center. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Chamberlain Huckeriede Funeral Home (920 N Cable Rd, Lima, OH 45805). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Nationwide Children's Hospital.
