He was predeceased by: his father Ozro George 'Jake Staas; his brother Carl Staas; and his half-brother Robert Hartman. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Baker; his children, Deron Staas of Rockford, IL, Derek Staas of Wapak and Tricia Rodgers (James) of Glenelg, MD; his stepson Michael Derringer of Forest, OH; his grandchildren, Amanda Uncapher (Luke) and Alexander Rodgers; his siblings, William Staas of Tucson, AR, Dorothy Harshe (Don) of Findlay and Patti Wallace of Washington; his half-brother Doug Staas (Vicki Dunifon) of Florida; and also Janet Acheson of Lima. He is also survived by 2 great grandchildren.
