It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William W. Yates (Lima, Ohio), born in Iroquois, South Dakota, who passed away on May 25, 2022, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Virgil Yates; his wife Edith Elaine Yates (Hartinger); his son Timothy Yates; his granddaughter Aimee Burkholder; and his siblings, Robert Yates and Betty Litschewski (John).
He is survived by: his pets, Miss Gray, Trooper and Jeter; his daughters, Kathleen Burkholder (Bryan) of Lima and Natalie Othniel (Josh) of Independence, KS; his grandchildren, Nathan Burkholder (Laura), Nick Burkholder (McKenzie Clapp), Noah Burkholder (Meagan), Nolan Burkholder (Kristina Bair), Ephraim Othniel, Ben Othniel (Michalah) and Arielle Gustafson (Patrick); his great grandchildren, Claire, Lucy Burkholder, Emma Burkholder, Katherine Burkholder, Nehemiah, Laylie, Anaiah Othniel, Samuel, Aubrey and Vivian Gustafson; his sister Bonnie Beer of Rapid City, SD; and his sister-in-law Laurine Yates of Mobridge, SD. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
