He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Thomas and Theresa Thomas (Rauth); his sister Diane Thompson; his stepfather Clifford VanAman; and his stepsisters, Barbara Kruk and Luella Karle.
He is survived by: his wife Rena Holmes; his sons, Brian Thomas (Peggy) of Wooster and Bill Thomas (Becky) of Akron; his grandchildren, Jessie, Jamie, Trista, Trina, Dustin, Eric, Joseph, Jacob and Natalie; his great grandchild Nina; his sister Susan Angelone of Gibsonburg, Ohio; his stepbrothers, Tom VanAman (Leah) of Sandusky and Robert VanAman of Kalamazoo, Michigan; and his brother-in-law Art Thompson of Pemberville, Ohio. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
