He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank and Barbara; his wife Betty; and his daughter-in-law Liz Smith Berta. He is survived by: his sons, Tom Berta of LeRoy, Steve Berta (Lisa McVey-Berta) of Carmel, Mike Berta (Lynn) of Hocking County and Dan Berta (Debra) of Ronald, Washington; and his close friend Bobbe Ray. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren.
