He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Brunk and Clara Brunk (Hartman); his wife Barbara Jean Brunk (Wray); his daughter-in-law Sue Brunk; and his brothers, David Brunk, Wendell Brunk and Wesley Brunk.

He is survived by: his children, David Brunk (Loreen) of Elida, Ohio, Tony Brunk (Audrey) of Nelsonville, Robert Brunk (Naomi) of Logan, Michael Brunk (Dolores) of Elida, Ohio and Karen Weaver (Loren) of Logan; and his sisters, Sharon Renno (Bill) of Danville, Patricia Miller (Titus) of Seaboard and Elaine Brunk of Logan. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
