He was predeceased by : his parents, Clarence Cooper and Arzella Herman; and his siblings, Libby Jackson, Vivian Price, Deloris Frye, Renee Willis, Josephine Artis, Rozella Cooper, Robert Cooper, Dean Cooper and Curt Cooper.

He is survived by : his son James Cooper (Cheryl Cooper); his grandchildren, Alexis Williams, DaVante, Julius, Jaelyn and Jaden Cooper; and his brother Raymond (Sandy). He is also survived by his family and friends.
