He was predeceased by: his parents, William Epling and Lea Anderson; his siblings, Larry Ray, Jerry L. Epling and Sandra A. Reynolds; his stepdaughter Tammy Popovich; and his grandson J. J. Murphy.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Epling; his sons, Billy and Gary Epling; his stepson Scott Hammonds (Jamie); his grandchildren, Craig Popovich, Krissy Murphy, Jeremy Murphy, Ryan Murphy, Xavier Klena, Corriyn Hammonds, Jourdan Engle, Asia Velez, Sahara Velez, Caleb Hammonds and Ezra Hammonds; and his half-sister Billie Kinzer (Bill). He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
