Carter Sr.; her children, James Jr. (Pamela), John (Debbie), Shalanda and Lavisa Battle; her siblings, Willie Battle Jr. (Peggy), Ernest Battle (Lavenia), Sylvia Young (Robert) and Joe Martin; her great-aunt Janie Burnette; her granddaughter Da'Ja Monique Barnette; and her siblings, Harry Battle and Alice Jackson. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren.
