He is survived by: his wife Earlene Ison; his children, Jacqueline Holt (Tom) of Sheffield Village and Ernest "Wes" Ison (Dorothy Sharp) of Oberlin; his grandsons, Matthew W. Smith Jr. (Aurora), Jeremy D. McCarty (Meghan), Scott A. Smith (Jeanie) and Garrett W. Ison; his great grandchildren, Haileigh, Aydan Smith, Elizabeth, Amanda McCarty, Audrey and Travis Walker; and his great great grandchild Grayson Colt. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Rev. Jack R. Ison, 87, of Lorain, Ohio, formerly of Matewan, West Virginia, passed peacefully at his residence on Monday, August 3, 2026, to be with his Lord and Savior after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease.
