He is survived by: his siblings, Juanita Harris of Louisville, KY, Mattie Lee Capers, Vicki James of Ward, AL and John Henry Chess of Talladega; his children, Joann Chaney of Lorain, Brenda Chaney of Lorain, Robin Chaney of Lorain, Sheakym Chaney of Lorain, Candace Davenport (Jordan) of Lorain and Johnny Lee Alston III of Lorain; and his grandchildren, Ke'yona (James), Jamel, Jamal, Lashawn, Ty'shae, Isaiah, Ke'Ayshia, Chakiya, Syrus, Sylis, Lavelle, Anthony, Marcus Jr., Tre'Sean, Rashad and Jakari. He is also survived by his 9 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church (3900 Clifton Ave, Lorain, OH 44055). A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Shiloh Baptist Church (3900 Clifton Ave, Lorain, OH 44055).
