He was predeceased by : his parents, Pat W. Herron and Elva K. Richey; his daughter Melony Herron; and his sisters, Sandra and Jennie.

He is survived by : his wife Kimberly Herron; his son Joseph (Herron Jr.); and his siblings, Wayne, Arlene and Lisa.
