Juliann Marie Baker Obituary
Juliann Marie Baker, 61, of Lorain, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, surrounded by her family.
She was born on August 5, 1964, in Oberlin, Ohio, to Carl and Shirley Watson. Julie dedicated her life to her husband, children, grandchildren, and her four-legged grandchildren. She was known for her kindness, strength, generosity, and strong work ethic. Her presence brought comfort and joy to everyone who knew her.
She enjoyed motorcycle riding with her husband of 39 years, Allen Baker; chatting and playing card games with her son, Johnathan Phinney and nephew Aaron Bates; going to bingo with her daughter, Christina Phinney; and enjoying her daughter Maria Baker's delicious baked goods. She loved spending time in North Carolina with her daughter, Angelina Baker; crafting with her sister, Robin Salva, niece April Worcester, great-niece Nilah Worcester, and niece Kayla Watson; singing karaoke with her niece, Autumn Davila; and enjoying rainbows and roses with her niece Juliana Mendyka.
She was a loving mother to Johnathan David Phinney, Christina Marie Phinney, Maria Danielle Baker, and Angelina Victoria Baker. She was a proud grandmother to Zavier Phinney, Nicholas Baker, Kairi-Ann Vance, Evelyn Price, Jayda-Ann Tucker, as well as her four-legged grandchildren, Charlotte Blue, Carmella Brown, and Lacy Lou. She is survived by her husband, Allen Baker; her mother, Shirley Watson; her sister, Robin Salva; her brother, Carl Watson; and countless nieces, nephews, and friends, including the students, faculty, and staff she held dear to her heart from Oberlin College Conservatory and her Church on the North Coast family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Watson.
Her family will receive friends at the Church on the North Coast, 4125 North Leavitt Road, Lorain, Ohio, Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. with a funeral service to follow at Noon.
