Malixa (Ruiz) Morales Obituary
Malixa Morales (Née Ruiz), 76, of Lorain, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 26, 2026, at Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake, following a lengthy illness.
She was born June 9, 1950, in Utuado, Puerto Rico, and moved to Lorain in 1951. She graduated from Admiral King High School in 1968. After graduation, Malixa worked in administrative roles across business, healthcare, and nonprofit organizations for over 45 years.
Malixa was an avid Cleveland Guardians fan and rarely missed watching a game. She loved welcoming family into her home for meals and, after retirement, enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles. Above all, she was born to be a grandmother and shined in that spotlight. Her grandchildren will remember her laugh, hilarious stories, made-up words, and the special nicknames she had for each of them. They will cherish holidays and sleepovers at grandma's house, filled with love and her cooking.
Malixa was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 56 years, Primitivo "Primo" Morales, as well as her parents, Juan Daniel Andujar and Irma Cintron Andujar.
Malixa is survived by her children, Jacquelyn Zimmerman (Erich), Jennifer Morales, and Richard Morales (Sara); her grandchildren, Jaiden Morales, RJ Morales, Jaivan Morales-Smith, Jaida Morales-Smith, Maeson Morales, and Reece Zimmerman; her sisters, Rose Cuevas (Sigelfredo), Evelyn Turton (James), Nidia Ayala, and Ana Fogo (late husband, Dean); her brothers, Danny Andujar, Ruben Andujar, and Jimmy Andujar (Cindy); and many nieces and nephews.
Her family will receive friends at Sacred Heart Chapel, 4301 Pearl Avenue, Lorain, OH 44055 Wednesday, November 4, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9:30 a.m. Rev. Father Alex Spenik, Pastor will officiate. Malixa will be laid to rest beside her husband, Primo, the following day, Thursday, November 5, 2026, at 12:45 p.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Seville, OH 44273.
In lieu of flowers, The family has created a memorial gift page for University Hospitals in Malixa's memory. To make a gift, visit https://fundraise.uhgiving.org.
