She is survived by: her children, Douglas Dequae Taylor Sr. (Carmen) and Damesha Marie Yontz (Jason); her siblings, John L. Metcalf (Bonnie) of Canton, Larry D. Metcalf of Lorain, Ronnie L. Metcalf of Lorain, Kimberly Metcalf Peoples (Darrel) of Louisville and LaSonya Metcalf Bailey of Columbus, Ohio.; her uncle Earl Cummings; her cousins, Dr. Jerome M. Davis, Tammy Davis, Carla Moore, Alunda Riggins and Dax Comer; and her close friends, Sydney Lancaster, Barbara Ballard and Sandra Ballard. She is also survived by grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a host of loving relatives and lifelong friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Faith Ministries (1306 Euclid Ave, Lorain, OH 44052). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Her spirit of service extended far into the broader community through her leadership with the National Saints of Light Foundation, the National Association of Education, and the Negro Business and Professional Women's Organization.
