Rebecca Hernandez Obituary
With deep love and gratitude for her life, we announce the peaceful passing of Rebecca "Becky" Hernandez Monday, September 29, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 25, 1959, in Baymon, Puerto Rico, and from that day forward, brought joy, laughter, and warmth to everyone blessed to know her.
Becky had a special light about her. Her spirit was joyful, her smile unforgettable, and her presence a gift to all. From a young age, she was nurtured and cared for by the compassionate community at Lucy Idol Center. There, she discovered a world of opportunity—swimming, bowling, field trips, and outings that filled her days with adventure and taught her so much. Becky thrived in their care, and the family will forever be grateful for their love and guidance.
Later in life, Becky was lovingly supported by Traid Residential Solutions, where she lived independently in her own apartment. Her days were filled with fun, laughter, and connection thanks to her incredible caregivers—especially Mondea, Betsy, and the entire team. Special thanks go to Brock and Jaime for welcoming her into the Traid family. Becky loved shopping, going on outings, and never missed a chance to enjoy a good meal at her favorite restaurants. Life with Becky was never dull—every day was an adventure.
Becky was the cherished daughter of Isaias "Bayamon" R. Hernandez (who preceded her in death on September 6, 2006) and Eligia "Blanca" Hernandez. She leaves behind her devoted siblings: Minerva (David) Feliciano, Anibal Hernandez, Lynn Sanchez, and Gabriel (Noemi) Hernandez. Her love extended to her many nieces and nephews: Augustine (Lully) Nieves, David Feliciano, Jourdan Hernandez, Elliot (Cora Cervantes) Feliciano, Jaryd (Kimberly) Hernandez, Lissette Feliciano, and Meghan (Shawn) Lloyd, as well as two great-nephews and five great-nieces—all of whom Becky adored and who brought her so much joy.
Becky's life was filled with love, laughter, and purpose. She taught us all what it means to live with joy and to embrace each day with an open heart. Her memory will forever be a blessing to those who loved her.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Becky's beautiful life on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 10:30 AM until time of her service at 11:30 AM Temple Emmanuel Assembly of God, 4230 Clinton Avenue, Lorain. Burial to follow immediately at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
