Velma Marie Scurlock Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Velma Marie Scurlock of Lore City, Ohio, who passed away on May 28, 2025 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Denzil Furbee and Laura Furbee (Kelley); her husband Ronald E. Scurlock; her siblings, William, Edward, Gerald, Denzil, Patricia and Jane; and her in-laws, Herbert and Wilda Scurlock.
She is survived by: her sons, David Scurlock (Valerie) and Gregory Scurlock (Melanie); her brothers, James Furbee and Rick Furbee (Denise); her grandchildren, Matthew Scurlock (Brandi Fabian), Kaleigh Martin (Joshua), Kyle Scurlock (Lisa), Tyler Scurlock, Heather Watkins, Jessica Hinson (Joe) and Ashley McElfresh; her great grandchildren, Brinley Scurlock, Maisey Martin, Braylee Pethtel, Eastin Scurlock, Ella Watkins, Dakota Hinson, Taylor Hinson and Cooper McElfresh; her niece Christine Duttlinger; and her special furry grandpup Gus.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Black-Epperson Funeral Home (231 Main St, Byesville, OH 43723). A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Velma's name be made to Absolute Hospice, 39 Summit Court – Suite 150, Caldwell OH 43724.
