He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Gotter and Carlotta Gotter; his grandson Patrick Minster; his sister Eugenia; and his brother-in-law William Babeaux.

He is survived by: his wife Carol; his children, Deborah Minster (Rick) of Louisville, Daniel Gotter (Jody) of South Carolina and Mark Gotter (Kelly) of Massillon; and his brothers, William Gotter of Louisville and Tom Gotter (Sandy) of Cuyahoga Falls. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren.
