He was predeceased by: his wife Joyce Briggs; his sons, Michael Briggs and Steven Briggs; and his sister Lois Garrison (William). He is survived by: his son Douglas Briggs (Elizabeth); his child-in-law Alexis Briggs; his grandchildren, Kathryn Russell (Conor), Logan Briggs, Rosemary Ford (Ian), Caorline Hilliard (Gregory) and Veronica Briggs; his great grandchildren, Charlotte, Eleanor, Margaret, Nigel, Eve and Gwendolyn; and his brother Larry Briggs (late Joan).
