She was predeceased by: her husband John D. Spelman, Sr.; and her siblings, Joni Liggett and James Veddern. She is survived by: her sons, John D. Spelman, Jr. and Jeffrey Spelman (Michelle); her grandchildren, Crosley, Cannon and Colsten Spelman; her siblings, Jan Eide, Patricia Adams (Darryl), Charles Veddern, Daniel Veddern (Marti) and Timothy Veddern (Ann); and her nieces and nephews, David Eide (Yoko), Nancy Henroid (Chris), Danny Veddern (Abby), Christopher Veddern, Alex Kilgore (Kevin), Lisa Wilkens-Maynus (Troy) and Brad Wilkens (Tricia).
With gratitude for her beautiful life, in lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 106 Maple Street, Reading, Ohio, 45215-4811.
