George Capehart-Gidney wrote a sympathy message

“So sorry to hear. Bob was a great friend to my father George Capehart. I remember Bob well. My brother and I use to caddie for him and my dad. We use to fight on who got Bob because he always gave a little more money. I have many fond memories of Bob. One of my favorites was when I was stationed to San Diego straight from bootcamp. He was in town and visited me. He picked me up and showed me around town. Dropped me off and handed me a brown bad with a couple of avocados in it. He was saying "here you go George, a couple of avocados, they are really good" I was walking back to my barracks and looked in the bag and saw these 2 green looking things, Had no ideal what they were. We did not have real Mexican food in Ohio back then and it would be awhile before I ventured to my 1st Mexican food restaurant and discover guacamole! So I looked at them and thought "what the heck are these weird things" and tossed them into the trash. Bob always had a story to tell and was a pleasure to be around. Bob was a very kind man and will be misses. I know dad will miss their recent trips to Bob Evans for breakfast.”
