She was predeceased by: her parents, Elder "Harry" Hawkins and Rosa B. Hawkins (Smith); her husband John L. Bright; her siblings, Glen and Treva; and her friends, Bernice Riggs and Virginia McCammon.

She is survived by: her caregiver Girl Scouts; her daughters, Crystal of Mansfield, Ramona Harris of Florida and Claudia Snyder (Mike) of Lexington; her grandchildren, Christine Kelly (Brian), Jennifer Carter (Bernard), Emily Harris, Adam Spellman (Katie) and Chantal Ferger (Christopher); and her friends, Susan Connor, Gary Lucas, Miriam Penney, Betty and Dan Woodland.
