With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gregory Smith of Lucasville, Ohio, who passed away on October 31, 2025 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this luminous soul, let his loved ones carry forward the torch of his memory, illuminating the path ahead with the warmth of his love and the brilliance of his spirit. Though Gregory may journey beyond the horizon of our sight, his essence remains woven into the very fabric of our being — a guiding light in the darkness, a beacon of hope in the night.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Thomas and Shirley Louise Vogel Smith; and his brother-in-law Ron Smith. He is survived by: his sisters, Susan E. Keller (Paul) of Wheelersburg, Debra Smith of Colorado Springs, CO, Dayna L. Lemieux (Ken) of Oneida, TN and Gina G. Mercer (Scott) of Portsmouth; and his pet Kat. He is also survived by five nieces, four nephews, and many cousins.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, November 4th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home, Inc. (1422 Lincoln St, Portsmouth, OH 45662). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 4th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
